When the A2 dual carriageway was moved across a bit a few years back, it created space for Cyclopark, a jewel in the crown of Gravesham’s sporting offer.

Set over 100 acres of parkland, this popular multi-sport facility has the ultimate ambition of encouraging more people to take up sport – and it’s quickly become something of a destination.

Its main draw is the 3km traffic-free road circuit, 6km of off-road Mountain Bike Trails and a 1,400 sqm skatepark designed for all the tricks you could possibly muster, whether on a skateboard, scooter, a pair of rollerblades or your BMX.

If you have ambitions to appear one day in an Olympic velodrome or ride the Tour de France this is a place to spend the day and more. You’ll need the practice to reach the podium. We’ll be there to cheer you on.

Cyclopark has hosted regional and national standard events for all cycling disciplines, including Cyclo-Cross and BMX over recent years – with exhilarating, fast paced action that will only help to inspire.

It’s a great day out for the family too. In addition to being able to hire a bike on the various bike tracks, there’s event throughout the year including fun runs and car show events. For younger visitors there’s also the CycloLand playpark – complete with mini road track – to enjoy.

During school holidays, Cyclopark put on a packed programme of events with its Cycling Holiday Clubs introducing the next generation to two-wheeled adventure from BMX and road cycling to mountain biking.

With all that exercise, getting fit is catered for too with a gym available offering up to 70 different fitness classes a week if you sign up as a member.

Once your workout is done there’s an on-site café too called ParkEat, the perfect spot for a quick refuel and catch up over a coffee with friends.

For days out like these, there’s nowhere quite like Gravesham.
