Visit this beautifully restored 18th-century mausoleum, set in a peaceful wood pasture, designed by architect James Wyatt.
Set within the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Cobham Wood is one of the few ancient wood pastures remaining in the UK. Comprising of open grassland and mature trees, this Special Site of Scientific Interest is grazed by Highland Cattle.
Standing at the highest point of the site is the restored Darnley Mausoleum.
Step inside the remarkable Darnley Mausoleum on selected open days from April to September. Set within peaceful woodland on the Cobham Park Estate, the mausoleum opens its doors for guided visits, giving you the opportunity to explore its striking architecture and discover the story behind this unique building. Friendly and knowledgeable National Trust volunteers welcome visitors and share insights into its history, restoration and design.
Open Sundays 2026: April 5, May 3, June 7, July 5, August 2, September 6 & 13
