Friday 15th August marks the 80th anniversary of Victory in Japan Day and the official end of the Second World War.
To pay tribute to all those who served, Gravesham Borough Council will be observing the national two minute silence at noon on Community Square, DA12 1AU.
Later in the day, Deputy Lieutenant Dr Bhargawa Vasudaven and The Mayor of Gravesham Cllr Jenny Wallace will be lighting a beacon on Windmill Hill at 9pm.
